PFW Password - Fall 2001 AIS Construction Equipment Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan recently converted their rental business to PFW's Rental Counter system. Catering to general contractors, environmental cleanup, utility and residential home builders, AIS Equipment looked for a rental system that could encompass all aspects of their business from supply sales, serialized and non-serialized rentals to ease of equipment movement among the branches.

"PFW's Rental Counter system delivers all, plus more. They were able to match the rental system to the operational needs of our business, something we were not used to with our past program," stated Frank Pytlowany, Rental Sales Director of AIS Equipment.

Previously, AIS Equipment was utilizing a rental system from Solutions by Computer. After evaluating their old rental system, AIS knew they needed to switch to a system that could grow with their expanding business needs and to meet the needs of their customers.

PFW's Rental Counter's total integration with the rest of the PFW Dealership Management System was an important factor in the decision to switch Frank said. "The parts management and equipment maintenance program with PFW is awesome! We are already realizing its benefits. The key factor was the training and support provided by PFW. The system was able to handle large serialized rental items, such as excavators and dozers, as well as non-serialized items such as pumps and generators. It is also just as easy to sell consumables and charge miscellaneous items."

PFW's Rental Counter system billing optimization was important to AIS Equipment. The Rental Counter system has the ability to calculate or adjust rental payments owing on equipment that has either exceeded the original rental term or that has been returned before the due date. Dealerships can bill their customers on a more accurate and appropriate basis, without a lot of manual calculations. PFW's Rental Counter system handles insurance and damage waivers processing and is equipped with flexible invoicing options that provides the ability to break up billing into multiple invoices.
