PFW Converts Rental Counter for IntelliDealer

PFW Password - Fall 2005 New this year, and continuing our natural progression of migrating existing green-screen applications, Rental Counter is the latest functional area to be transferred to PFW IntelliDealer. Within IntelliDealer’s web-based environment [Fig. 1], the power of Rental Counter [Fig. 2] is expanded through new information views, intuitive screens, and an easy-to-navigate application “flow”. A large and sophisticated application, Rental Counter uses the common presentation standards previously established in other IntelliDealer applications, and features an integration of Management Central’s Rental Availability screen.

Rental Counter offers dealerships equipment rental efficiency, through easy contract and invoice maintenance and a variety of detailed billing options. As a result of problem-free, automated rental transactions, customer service levels are increased. With Rental Counter, billing and invoicing defaults can be applied according to user-defined specifications: duration, rental rate, and other defined minimums and maximums. The optimized billing feature allows for the automatic calculation or adjustment of rental charges. The system intuitively applies the most appropriate billing amount relative to rental time, and can automatically credit customer accounts. Additionally, Rental Counter can be set to apply customized “typical” rental duration periods to rental transactions.

• Complete rental functions, such as insurance and damage-waiver processing
• Flexibility through access to inventory within a branch, or company-wide, as well as override and double-booking capability
• Information precision through searches that isolate units by availability, stock/tag number, category, class, subclass, and type
• Intuitiveness through suggested and mandatory parts sales (e.g., teeth) as well as suggested alternates and attachments for each rental stock unit
• Standardized, predefined rental rates, or customer-specific “discounted” rates
• Automation through the system-initiated opening of work orders upon rental return
• The ability to match real-world situations through billing with multiple invoices
• The freedom to apply surcharges for overusage based on machine hour-meter readings
• Information capture through authorization and identification number (e.g., driver’s license, credit card, etc.) recording
• Support for non-serialized items—parts or equipment too small to have their own serial number
• Integration with the customer profile -- which contains links to the call scheduling system -- as well as the equipment and parts profiles, and a combination with the purchase order and invoicing systems
• Credit authorizations

Traffic Integration
As well, the PFW Traffic system is integrated with Rental Counter. Here, the movement history of rental equipment can be accessed from the availability screen -- as well as from the equipment profile. In addition to the maintenance and printing of delivery receipts, there is a report of deliveries completed in the current month and a delivery schedule can be produced on demand. As well, Traffic hour readings and contract numbers are imported automatically from Rental Counter.
